On a level surface
Fit an arm board with a 750g weight (or a tonearm) onto subchassis, and fit platter and achromat, if used.
Put a record on the platter, and use spirit level to roughly level platter at about 6mm above the edge of the plinth.  Rotate adjusters clockwise to raise a side, anticlockwise to lower the side.
Take off platter, put on top plate, then place platter on again. Now level platter again, to about 6mm above the the top plate. Check bounce is even and unobstructed.
